ARE YOU ABOUT YOUR FATHER’S BUSINESS?
by Pam Clark (pamclark@prophetic.net)
Are you aware of the ebbs and flows in the Spiritual battle? They are definitely there. There has been a recent wave of a negative flow and many in the ministry have picked up on their awareness of it and even written about it. When they happen, you know you have to ride it out to some degree.
We learn that we have to do what Moses did when the Egyptians were coming after Israel to put them again under bondage: “Stand still and see the salvation of God!” Now there are two ways of standing still, in the Lord or in a place of shock and fear. Which do you think is better?
The warfare is very real and it does affect the whole globe, but the reality is that Jesus is taking the planet for the Kingdom of God. We just have to learn how to fight, with His rules, in His Army. “I’m just a little sinner for Jesus” won’t get you there.
There is way too much compromise in the Body of Christ and some of that is the result of false teaching. Jesus warned us about last days trouble, but He never expected us to cave in. Some really will give their lives unto the death, and some will die in the Lord, but there is the promise of the resurrection. But being in the Lord is more than going to a voter booth to make a decision. It starts off that way, but much more is required.
Many become afraid of the battle and so they go into a place of denial, often entertaining themselves with the world. But the ways of the world are getting more and more unGodly and will carry an evil price tag attached to it. If you faith has no meaning, do you really think there are benefits to it? Do you think you will get a reward?
Just because you are sitting in a church somewhere does not mean that you are being active or even in the Kingdom of God. You have to have an interactive relationship with Jesus. That involves two personalities, yours and His! His sheep hear His Voice, He says as the Good Shepherd. That means there is conversation and leadership.
If your leaders take you the wrong way, you don’t have to go there. We have had these militaristic type teachings that have gone to extremes of “obeying those in charge of you.” God set up an order for His people but His intentions are good and you should be able to discern that from reading your Bible. God never condones sin. And He is not trying to set you up in a religious order that puts them in higher place of rule in your life in the place of Him.
The Body is really starting to get a revelation of this and it is to our benefit. But we have to learn the Spirit to follow the Spirit. It will teach you to honor those in authority. And it’s not that hard, there is just a warfare over its teaching. The enemy doesn’t want you to know but many have paid a price for you to learn.
America is a great nation that many people admire, including its own citizens. But if the foundations are destroyed, another rule comes in and America is not America anymore. When people give the credit to another place, they will be surprised if not angry that “it doesn’t work that way anymore” and so their anger will rule often over the order. The foundations have then changed.
We need to find God’s defense in our lives and there is a battle to get there, but once the prize is won, we have to maintain it and also teach it to others, because the kingdoms of this world will become and are becoming the Kingdom of the Lord and of His Christ! But if we see evil ruling and reigning, do we bail out or do we seek God’s ways?
Everyone loves comfort and even some luxuries, but that is not the goal of a great Christian life, but a byproduct. Some people preach Jesus like that is the goal, but the reality is that Jesus will teach us how to navigate. Some days are good and some days are difficult but do we have His navigation in our lives or do we succomb and become overtaken, or do we find the path to His victories? We all have rough days.
If luxuries are the goal, we will become corrupt. The focus will turn to the flesh and the flesh is never satisfied. There is a character development going on in all our challenges, but if we don’t have the right understanding, our “vision” can take us somewhere else where we might get disappointed, even severely.
Remember the parable that Jesus taught of the king who made a great feast for his son and people didn’t want to attend because they had other things to do? His servants went out to the highways and byways to invite the more humble people in so the house might be full for the celebration, but even then, some did not want to do it right and had on another garment instead of the wedding garment (honor) and were thus thrown out.
This was a parable for these last days. The world is becoming more and more globally integrated, and that will not decrease but increase. There is no way to put a stop button on it. You can personally hide from it and you may have an assignment to be out of it, but you will still be affected by it, there is no escape from it. These are the last days and you have to learn to navigate them!
There is “a bent” or direction that we all have inside that makes us the unique person we are. Some people want to be different just to be different, but what they really want is attention and that can be good or bad. But God put eternity in our hearts and in that is a way to fulfill His best will for our lives and the whole Body of Christ. He has put interests and talents and spiritual gifts and we have to learn to direct them for the Kingdom of God. But we can’t do that if we don’t even know what the Kingdom of God is!
We may need attention for a little while but we need to learn to get on track for our Kingdom work. Are we about our Father’s business? It is His good pleasure to give us the Kingdom, but it does not come without relationship with Him. And to have that we have to come to know Him and the power of His might, and it really is quite fascinating!
Our ideas are not necessarily His ideas, and even though the world revolves around Him instead of us, we really can find a quality fulfillment. Things become clean and full of growth and accomplishments. Joy is there and peace too. This isn’t a wish like on a Christmas card, but a reality!
We have to remember that Christ means Anointing and the anointing is the power of God imparted to change things for the better. Jesus made the way and we get to follow His way, which is why we call Him “The Way.” He is also the Truth and the Life, as in forever life!
The enemy is resisting life and so we must learn how to overcome that. This is the hard part because he uses fear and God tells us to be strong and courageous. And we can be when we know the Truth! Then when crazy things happen, we will know what to do – or know to stand still and truly see the salvation of God in our lives.
The enemy always wants to take advantage of our teachings with false teachers. He will even try to use our believer words against us like He did with Jesus (Mark 4). He will use “turn the other cheek” to bully us into what he wants. He will say we have to be nice and comply, but even if it is sin and God does not teach that! He will say that God will do all the work and we don’t have to do anything, but all that is lies! There is an interactive relationship that brings forth the Kingdom of God. To teach otherwise denies the Bible.
God is not a terrorist but He obviously expects us to learn how to deal with them. If a vicious dog comes to your house to harm you or your animals or belongings, you don’t put a bowl of food out and try to pet him. You will get hurt! Jesus said we have to bind the strongman first. In the spirit world, some spirits will not change, we need to understand that. But we can learn what will change and work to establish His Kingdom. It takes discernment and we learn that and teach it to others by being about our Father’s business.
