The Importance of Confidence

The King James Version reads:

(Hebrews 10:35 ) Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great
recompense of reward.

The word “recompense” there means “a reward, as in wages.”

The New International Version reads:

(Hebrews 10:35) So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly
rewarded.

Most people who read ministry articles like mine, usually have a ministry at
work within them and this is the way it should be. Once the Word of God
becomes activated in a person, a desire to minister also comes up. It can
manifest in a number of different ways, but there is a life giving spring
(called the anointing) that has a force that wants to come up and out of
God’s Christian believers in expressions.

We know that is the power of the Holy Spirit. But some feel like they are to
squash it for the sake of the religious organization they may be around and
some feel they have to “fight” the organization to let it come out, and some
are in organizations that actually help them launch into their ministries.
If one is exceptionally blessed, there are those who encourage them to find
a way to do their ministry.

All of this is so important for Christian ministry fulfillment – personally
and practically. On some causes, there are still not enough volunteers, do
you know what I mean? I want to speak to anyone who has any kind of a
ministry, no matter how small or large it seems to be to them.

The five fold ministry is to equip others for the work of the ministry, and
that really comes out of learning how to do it and then just passing it on
to others. The older (or more mature ones) have to teach the younger (less
mature) in their giftings. It’s just how it works in every area of life.

We really don’t need exalted positions because you may be good at something
I am not and at the same time, vice versa! I may have a ministry meeting
somewhere, but I might need a mechanic to help me get to that meeting! We
all need respect, what ever our gift and calling is.

And it is true that we will not find true happiness and fulfillment until we
DO the calling that God has for us to do. It does not mean we will enjoy
every day of it because a lot of ministry is a SACRIFICE for Love. But there
will be a God pleasured satisfaction in serving Him and knowing it.

So I want to speak to ministers of any kind and encourage them to impart
confidence to others. And sometimes it might even get to someone’s head
temporarily, but God will pick them up from their fall to pride as they seek
Him. So really, not only do we need to impart confidence, but we also need
to do it the right way!

Everyone benefits from encouragement and some are more gifted at imparting
it than others, but it really is not something that is all that challenging
to do. It is AMAZING at what even a little bit of encouragement can do for a
person! Even if they are highly skeptical at first.

And some are skeptical because they have been burned in the past by people
taking advantage of them, or they have been approached by “salesmen” making
grand promises of an impractical non-reality. Disappointments can cause
people to walk with a limp and Jesus came to heal the lame – in whatever
capacity that is!

God exhorts us to have faith and even says that is what pleases Him, but for
some it is hard to have faith in some areas. The littlest things can make
the biggest difference and you may have a powerful ministry and not even
know it! Just by doing the little things that you do, being you!!!

God does not have to please our moods all the time, but He will work with
those who honestly want to work with Him. He is always looking for laborers
in the Harvest field and even tells us that we need to pray to the Lord of
the Harvest (Him) for the laborers, which is you and me.

Think about it like this. Every town needs a doctor for situations that come
up, but what if all the doctors were only in one place and not spread
around? As you know, we have to travel sometimes as it is to get the help we
need that way. But God needs ministers for the people who pray to Him the
same way! How many in these different areas of life are crying out and have
no sufficient answers? But the knowledge and resources for them are in the
earth, but are just not fully available in every area!

And when you think about it, the more needy a location is, there are
probably less resources. God needs qualified Christians to answer their
prayers. We have to realize that God truly does have need of us, and we just
need to connect to our callings! It may be a full time missions work or it
may be a ministry to someone that you meet out in the marketplace somewhere.
We need to be on “on.”

But to be on “on,” we need to be equipped. That is what the Church and
Christian ministries and conferences and schools are all about! We need the
head knowledge and we need the Spiritual experience knowledge with that
proper interpretation, and we need confidence in what we do.

Faithfulness has a lot of power, even when we are not “feeling it.”
Faithfulness encourages in a mighty way. I think all of us know how
important inner security is to just living life. That confidence that things
will work and be there means as much to us as the sun coming up every
morning for a new day.

Not only do we need confidence in the things around us, but we also need
confidence in ourselves. It may come more natural to some, but to some
others, it can literally mean the difference between life and death. God is
good and after creating us, He declared it was very good! But we also find
there is an enemy who wants to take away our confidence in the goodnesses of
God within and about us.

As ministers we need to realize that when we impart Spiritually, we need to
pass on confidence. It really generates a lot of love and it really builds
the Kingdom of God and the people in it. Not only does it do a good work but
that good work also will come back to us in due season. Like any seed, you
have to plant it, and water it and tend it, but there is great reward, the
Scriptures say, for this one.

Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of
reward. Do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. Be a
blessing and get blessed!

The Speckled Bird

[Thoughts in meditation – The message is in the Spirit.]

This verse is on my mind this morning:

Jeremiah 12:
9 Mine heritage is unto me as a speckled bird, the birds round about are against her; come ye, assemble all the beasts of the field, come to devour.
10 Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under… foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness.
11 They have made it desolate, and being desolate it mourneth unto me; the whole land is made desolate, because no man layeth it to heart.
12 The spoilers are come upon all high places through the wilderness: for the sword of the LORD shall devour from the one end of the land even to the other end of the land: no flesh shall have peace.

The speckled bird…

The nit pickers – who look for things to find wrong.

Instead of building up, they tear down.

People often go along with the crowd more than the Lord.

They get bothered or disturbed, so instead of going to the Lord about it, they attack.

They aren’t concerned about others, even if they act like it.

Nit pickers.

They have an appearance, but deny the power.

They say what they think you want to hear and what sounds “good” to them, but they are insincere.

Selah. Sigh.

Earlier verses in this same passage:

5 If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?
6 For even thy brethren, and the house of thy father, even they have dealt treacherously with thee; yea, they have called a multitude after thee: believe them not, though they speak fair words unto thee.
7 I have forsaken mine house, I have left mine heritage; I have given the dearly beloved of my soul into the hand of her enemies.
8 Mine heritage is unto me as a lion in the forest; it crieth out against me: therefore have I hated it.

Toughen up, believers!

Strong words.

People can cry for mercy over and over but if they never change… God can make a judgment.

Psalm 55:
18 He hath delivered my soul in peace from the battle that was against me: for there were many with me.
19 God shall hear, and afflict them, even he that abideth of old. Selah. Because they have no changes, therefore they fear not God.

And you know the definition of the word insanity – Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

Does God have an opinion?  I think so!

Maybe more like a will!

“Come, let us reason together,”  He says!

He can win your thoughts.

We never like to get out of our comfort zones.

But we need to get more uncomfortable there when it becomes a rut!

If you are not challenged by HIS Spirit, then you are not in His will!

The flesh will resist, but the Spirit within will give Life.

Know the evidence?  Know the fruit?
