Meat in Due Season – by Pam Clark

by Pam Clark (

There are lots of good things to ponder on but I am pondering right now on Meat. Meat in due season….

There is Spiritual food and drink.

Milk – when you (your spirit) hears something and it is soothing. For your size, which may be small, it’s nourishing.

You hear something for the first time or you ponder it and it feels good. It ought to work. “I like it,” you say….

Okay, now you graduate to bread. Bread is hearing something you heard before and you can say “Amen” to it. You can go “That’s right,” or “I get a witness to that.” You are the good Amen corner, as they say.

Bread – you are a little stronger than being bottle fed – having to hear something from someone else, you can do a little on your own. Peformance, yes, that is good. “Look at me!” Sweet, good. Really!

Hebrews 5:12-13 “For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe.”

14 “But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”

Meat is for those who are doing something. You give them something to work with. They can work it, they can use it. They can incorporate it. It’s no longer their vision but it’s an “our vision” mentality. It is God’s Vision and you have learned how HE works.

Some people learn people and they know how to work that (in the flesh). We see this all the time. They claim the Spirit but do the works of the flesh.

And so when things don’t work out, they look for someone else to blame. “It’s your fault! You messed it up!”, when they don’t know (or they would be doing it!)

It’s spiritual pride that won’t accept where you really are and approach the things in your life with an honest heart. So you like the milk, you like the bread. You like someone else to feed you or stroke you, saying, “Good girl, Good boy!”
You think you got your “well done” and maybe for a while you did. But have you graduated to meat yet?

Do you know how to chew? (discern) Do you know how to utilize the manna (every word that comes from the mouth of God)?

Do you have a project? Do you know what it takes? Have you counted the cost? Or are you just waiting for someone else to tell you what to do?

Now sometimes people do know more than we do. It pays to have a hearing ear, that means that you are not all there is!

For a season, we try to make everyone fit our concepts of what we believe is going on. It’s a temptation we all fall for. But then we learn there is more, and (sadly we think at first), it’s not all about us! But later, we are grateful it is not!

There is that limbo place of wanting more but waiting on someone else. But then those “other people” don’t really have the word that fits! In the beginning they did, but today, they seem to be missing it! What is God doing?

He is “graduating you” – He is maturing you in other words, He is making you lean in on Him.

And when you first start getting these words, it makes you afraid a little bit. (“How dare I think like God on that?”, you think.) But you are right on some of it. Maybe not all of it, but you may have hit the mark pretty good, if you have been a diligent seeker and gotten into the Scriptures.

We get real excited when we get it right. Yea! I got a “well done!” Conferences are full of people who want a word like that. And it’s okay to seek that confirmation. But there is more………..

When we’ve got some understanding, we will start seeing that there are needs to be met, and we can be a part of that. IT IS MORE THAN JUST GIVING a dollar or two, or handing out brochures at the door. There are a lot of good works out there needing to be done, and guess what? We were created for such!

Ephesians 2:10 “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”

It is worth a well done! But there are more!

God gave you a brain and you can use it! Respectfully of course, but He gave you a mind, and in Him, it is a sound mind, a good mind, a working mind, an alive mind, a generous mind, a gifted mind!

He will touch your mind with His revelations. He will transform your mind to His ways of thinking! It gets pretty amazing!

And then you are ready for the meat! Strong fuel for good works, effective ones. Not just for obedience, which is good, but for Love’s sake, for the Mind of Christ’s sake!

How does God think? What does He want? And by reason of use, you learn and get more skills and do effective works.

And do you know, that in the last days (the later days of this age in other words), “31 …the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits. 33 And those of the people who understand shall instruct many…” from Daniel 11.

God is raising up an army of BELIEVERS! Believers are not guessers. They are the ones who know their God!
When they hear the word, they are not looking for direction but for better ways of equipping, DOING the work of their ministry!

So whatcha doing? If you are in the Word, I promise you it means something!

Hebrews 6:10 For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

Good job! ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚
