On Things to Come…

ON THINGS TO COME…
by Pam Clark (pamclark@prophetic.net)

Reports are everywhere about all the concerns we should be having in this day and time, and we really have to resist a spirit of fear, but even more WE NEED TO FIND OUT WHAT WE SHOULD BE DOING!

Because we have not listened or heard God’s Voice for ourselves or obeyed His instructions for our lives to a greater and greater degree, we are facing some terrible things coming down the line. In our past national history, like after the Great Depression, or the World Wars, people caught on (finally) that they had missed God. How long will it take us this time to figure it out???

Like you, I love the blessings, but when the blessings get us and not the other way around, we get numb and blind to things coming down the pike. In Isaiah 22:25 it says, “‘In that day,’ says the Lord of hosts, ‘the peg that is fastened in the secure place will be removed and be cut down and fall, and the burden that was on it will be cut off; for the Lord has spoken.’” The peg referred to is part of a foundation that other things depended upon for support. So when one part falls down, a number of other things fall down with it.

If a corner structure falls, all that corner held up will fall with it. It’s one reason why Jesus is called the Cornerstone but that strength is not just based on emotions, but our will. We can have all these emotional feelings but if they don’t result in societal changes and holy things affecting and changing the world around us, we’ve missed it. And if we fail to bless the structure so that it will stay in its place of strength, then all we represent goes down.

We must learn God’s Structure for current day leadership. It’s a Team effort! What leads US should be our calling.

2 Peter 1:
“5 But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, 6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, 7 to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. 8 For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.10 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; 11 for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

Salvation is more than Baby Jesus in a manger, as sweet as that is. It is more than watching a good movie or listening to a good song service, it’s about SEEING the POWER of the Resurrection in our daily lives. If something is not getting you/us off the seat of our complacency, then we have a problem!

We are off center if Jesus is not Central. And while we may be okay for a while, when something big falls, there is a big crash! And regrouping can be a big challenge.

Many of our past leaders are going off the scene and then what comes? If we don’t know what WE are supposed to do, we’ve missed something. There should be a passion that rises up within you to serve the Lord and His righteousness.

Yes, man has limitations but with Christ IN us, man has great strengths! You know if you feel right inside, and if you have a settled knowing of what you should be doing. Are you touching the world around you with your best? You know if you are doing it or not, especially if you know your calling!

Are you serving THE CAUSE of Christ? Do you have just a name affiliation with Him, or does He influence your life with the pressure of His Leadership? If you know Him, He touches you. You have encounters.

Prayer is not a one sided list of requests no matter how good those requests are. He will answer the good stuff, but if it’s only a list, you will miss the best part of all, His personal Presence and holy interactions and revelations of divine insights.

Amos 3:8 “A lion has roared! Who will not fear? The Lord God has spoken! Who can but prophesy?”

Have you heard Him? Then go and tell and do!
